Main activities of Lithuanian Maritime Safety Administration:

1. Control of compliance with the maritime safety requirements set by international, European Union and national legal acts.
2. Port State and Flag State control, technical supervision of ships and issuance of mandatory documents.
3. Registration of seagoing ships and issuance of ships' documents. Administration of the Register of Seagoing Ships of the Republic of Lithuania.
4. Supervision of the activities of the authorized classification societies.
5. Supervision of seafarers' training activities and activities related to the certification of seafarers in accordance with the requirements of STCW Convention and national legislation. Administration of the Register of Seafarers of the Republic of Lithuania.
6. Certification and supervision of enterprises rendering services related to maritime safety.
7. Management of aids to navigation. Provision of navigational information for ships (seafarers).
8. Composition of State hydrographic picture, execution of hydrographic and geodesic surveys, systematization and storage of cartographic, geodesic and other data.
