Documents submitted to register a ship:

 

  • an application to register a ship, indicating the name of the ship coordinated with the Lithuanian Maritime Safety Administration;
  • the original document proving the ownership of a ship or a notarized copy of such a document (or a duplicate). The document proving the ownership of a ship in a foreign language shall be translated into the State language (translator’s signature on the translated document shall be confirmed by a seal of a translation agency or a notary);
  • the original document proving that the ship has been deleted from the previous register (if the ship was registered). The proof document of the ship deletion from the register in a foreign language shall be translated into the State language (translator’s signature in the translated document shall be confirmed by a seal of a translation agency or a notary);
  • if the owner of a ship is a citizen of the Republic of Lithuania a document in evidence of his / her identity has to be provided;
  • a copy of International Tonnage Certificate issued by an authorized classification society or the Lithuanian Maritime Safety Administration;
  • a copy of a certificate of ship’s class issued by an authorized classification society;
  • a report of a survey issued by an authorized classification society;
  • a  consent to register a fishing ship at the Register of the Fisheries Department under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, J. Lelevelio Str. 6, LT-01102 Vilnius, www.zuvdep.lt;
  • an application to issue a Minimum Safe Manning Document.

 

 

Documents to be issued to the ship registered in the Register of Seagoing Ships of the Republic of Lithuania:

 

1.    Certificate of Ship’s Registration at the Register of Seagoing Ships of the Republic of Lithuania;

2.    Permit to Fly Lithuania’s State Flag;

3.    Minimum Safe Manning Document.

 

The original Permit to Fly Lithuania’s State Flag and Minimum Safe Manning Document and a notarized copy of the Certificate of Ship’s Registration at the Register of Seagoing Ships of the Republic of Lithuania must be onboard the ship.

Upon changes of the data stored in the Register of Seagoing Ships of the Republic of Lithuania, the owner of the ship shall give a written notice thereof to the Lithuanian Maritime Safety Administration no later than within 10 calendar days and submit the documents in evidence of the changes.

 

Upon changes of the data specified in paragraphs 22.5.4, 22.5.3.3, 22.5.7-22.5.17 of the Regulations on Registration of Seagoing Ships of the Republic of Lithuania, a new Certificate of Ship’s Registration at the Register of Seagoing Ships of the Republic of Lithuania, a new Permit to Fly Lithuania’s State Flag and – upon changes of the data provided in the Minimum Safe Manning Document – a new Minimum Safe Manning Document are issued. The owner of a ship shall return ineffective ship’s documents to the Lithuanian Maritime Safety Administration within 14 working days as of the day of issuance of new documents.
